5. P. J. Tucker
P. J. Tucker is an American professional basketball player for the ‘Miami Heat’ of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the ‘Texas Longhorns’. Tucker was selected by the ‘Toronto Raptors’ with the 35th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft.
He played a total of 83 minutes during his rookie season with the Raptors. In 2007, he joined the Summer League roster for the ‘Cleveland Cavaliers’. In the 2007–08 season with ‘Hapoel Holon’ in the ‘Israeli Premier League’. He won the MVP trophy and led his team to the league title. For the 2008–09 season, he was signed by ‘Donetsk’. On 7 October 2009, he renewed his contract with Donetsk for the 2009–10 season. In August 2010, Tucker signed with Aris BC for the 2010–11 season. But he was released within a year.
In April 2011, he signed with ‘Sutor Basket Montegranaro’ in Italy. Later he signed a one-year deal with ‘Brose Bamberg’. In 2012, he got the opportunity to play for ‘Phoenix Suns’. On 8 February 2014, he recorded 16 points a career-high 15 rebounds, and 4 steals in a 122–109 win over the Warriors. He played all 82 games for the ‘Phoenix Suns’ in 2015–16, the only player to do so. On 23 February 2017, he was traded back to the ‘Toronto Raptors’.
He had 14 points and 12 rebounds in his first career playoff start. Tucker signed a four-year $32 million contract with the ‘Houston Rockets’. On 30 March 2018, he scored 18 points and made a career-high five 3-pointers in a 104–103 win over the Suns. In 2021, he was traded to the ‘Milwaukee Bucks’. He won an NBA championship with the ‘Milwaukee Bucks’.
