Mike Miller is an American basketball coach and former professional player who is the basketball head coach at Houston High School in Germantown, Tennessee.

After being selected by the ‘Orlando Magic’ in the first round of the 2000 NBA draft with the fifth overall pick. In 2001, he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year.

 

He is the only first-year player to appear in all 82 regular-season games during the 2000–01 season. He was traded to the ‘Memphis Grizzlies’ midway through the 2002–03 NBA season. Miller was the recipient of the ‘NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award’ for the 2005–06 season.

In 2007, he made nine three-pointers in a win over the ‘Golden State Warriors’, breaking Sam Mack’s Grizzlies franchise record of eight in a game set. He won two consecutive NBA championships with the ‘Miami Heat’ in 2012 and 2013.

 

Before entering the NBA, he played college basketball for the ‘Florida Gators’. Miller became a college assistant coach with the ‘Memphis Tigers’. He resigned after two seasons before becoming the head coach at Houston High School. He played for 17 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
